Growth & Livability of Emerging Cities

Tier 2 and 3 cities are growing rapidly, with a 6.6% CAGR, but face risks of declining livability due to poor infrastructure, environmental issues, and limited healthcare as they urbanize. Food Security through Sustainable Practices

Indonesia faces significant challenges in agriculture, with aging farmers (77.2% over 34 years old), decreasing agricultural productivity, and environmental threats like climate shocks and pest attacks. Women-led MSMEs account for 64.5% of all MSMEs in Indonesia, contributing significantly to the economy. However, when it comes to tech roles, women face a much larger disparity. As of 2020, only 22% of women in Indonesia are employed in STEM fields, which is significantly lower than the global average. Representation in critical roles like software development and data science is even more limited, further hindering their participation in the digital economy. These gaps limit the potential for women to contribute and compete in leadership, high-skill roles, and technology-driven industries.
